Freedom of Information

The Office of Tobacco Control is a public body for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Acts, 1997 and 2003. The Acts assert the right of members of the public to obtain access to official information to the greatest extent possible consistent with public interest and the right to privacy of individuals.

A guide to the functions and records of the Office of Tobacco Control has been prepared in accordance with Section 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Acts, 1997 & 2003 (pdf file).

Requests under the Freedom of Information Act should be made in writing to the FOI Officer, Office of Tobacco Control, Willow House, Millennium Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or email The letter should state that the request is being made under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 1997.

An application form has been devised to facilitate the making of requests.
